  • Forte Jesus de Mombaça
    A city tour of Mombasa is not complete without a visit to the Fort Jesus located in ‘Mombasa Old Town’. Fort Jesus (Forte Jesus de Mombaça) is a Portuguese fort built in 1591 by order of King Philip I of Portugal (King Philip II of Spain), then ruler of the joint Portuguese and Spanish Kingdoms, located on Mombasa Island to guard the Old Port of Mombasa, Kenya. It was built in the shape of a man (viewed from the air), and was given the name of Jesus. In 2011, the fort was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, highlighted as one of the most outstanding and well preserved examples of 16th-century Portuguese military fortifications.
  • You will also explore the old town where you will walk along the narrow streets and visit the old harbour where you will see the old Arabic boats and some of the oldest mosque found near the old harbour. Proceed to the market built in colonial times where you will learn about the food spices, foods and vegetables the proceed for lunch at the centre of Mombasa city or by request, at Tamarind restaurant which is built on the shores of the Indian Ocean on the northern coast. After lunch, visit the Haller park, a private sanctuary, where you may feed the giraffes, see the crocodiles and hippos feeding. The Haller park landscape is attractive covered by casuarinas, bamboos and eucalyptus trees and is home to buffalos, eland antelopes, giraffes, water bucks, oryx, snakes, crocodiles, hippos, tortoise and different types of birds’ species. Haller Park is a nature park in Bamburi, Mombasa, on the Kenyan coast. It is the transformation of a quarry into an ecological area. Haller Park is home to a variety of plant and animal species that serve as recreational areas for tourists and locals.Drive back to the Hotel at around 6.30 pm.

You will be picked up early in the morning at 7:30 am from your hotel and driven to Mombasa and you visit the fort Jesus which was built by the Portuguese in 1593. You will go inside and see ancient things, during that colonial time, you will be told the history of the fort Jesus and Mombasa as whole. Then you will visit Jewelry Shops and then proceed to the Old market where you can buy different types of spices. Then you will drive to the Moi Avenue and see the Elephant Tusks. After that, you will visit the Indian temple and learn more about Indian religion. You will have a chance to go inside the temple and see how they make their prayers and you will feel close to God. Then proceed to Akamba wood carvers village. Here you will have a chance to see how people are talented to curve any sculpture of your need. You will go to one hurt to another and see for yourself how they curve. After that you will go to the show room and you will be amazed to see well finished stuffs to buy.
After that you will go for lunch. After lunch you will drive to Haller Park. Here you will feed the giraffes with your hand, see the aldabra tortoises which are over 300 years. The snake park, the crocodiles, fish aquarium, the hippopotamus, buffalos, Oryx, different types of birds and many more. After Haller Park, you will drive through the mama Ngina drive and make a short break to see the nice view of the Indian Ocean. You can make here beautiful photos of remembrance then drive back and arrive to your Hotel at the evening
